Changes to the Eye Exam Process

Beginning September 1st, 2012, Drs. North & Watson will be measuring vital signs (height, weight, and blood pressure) during the eye exam process.    We also request that any medication/allergy lists or a summary from the PCP be brought to the eye exam.  If you have any questions about the above changes to our eye exam process, please feel free to call our office. This is to comply with federal documentation standards.  The goal is to improve the quality and efficiency of health care.

With the new changes:

  • A patient requesting  an e-copy of their patient record will have it delivered within 3 business days.
  • Patients will receive a summary of their visit within 3 business days.
  • A patient portal or personal health record (PHR) will be established  to deliver online access to visit summaries, appointments, and invoices.

Please visit our blog next week.  I will provide a closer look into our new Patient Portal and how you can receive your log in credentials.
