As we celebrate 25 years in business, we would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We always strive to provide outstanding patient care, be a leader in technology in our field, promote patient wellness, and do our part in the community. With the help of our wonderful staff and patients, we have managed to accomplish all of those things in and will continue to grow and learn as we aim for the golden jubilee (50years).

On September 8th, 2013, Drs. North & Watson staff members headed out to Lake Minnetonka to celebrate.  It is always a wonderful time getting our four offices together to socialize and reminisce.   Below is a brief timeline of the past 25 years.  Also enjoy the pictures of our silver jubilee on the water.

1988 – Drs. North & Watson Optometrists, P.A was founded.  Roseville, Burnsville, and Suburban Square offices were opened.

1990 – Ridgedale office is opened in February.

1992 – Mall of America office is opened in August.

1994 – Suburban Square office is sold.

1996 – Dr Watson goes to Bolivia on a Gift of Sight mission trip

1997 – Tamarack office is opened.  Dr. Watson receives President citation from the Minnesota Optometric Association.

1998 – Tamarack office is sold.  Dr. Watson goes on a Gift of Sight mission trip to Bangladesh.

1999 – Dr. Watson goes on a Gift of Sight mission trip to the Philippines. Dr. Watson is President of the Minnesota Optometric Association.

2000 – Dr Watson goes on a Gift of Sight mission trip to Thailand.

2001 – Dr. Watson goes to Peru and the Dominican Republic for Gift of Sight mission trips.

2002 – Dr. Watson returns to Thailand for a Gift of Sight mission trip.

2003 – Dr Watson goes to Mexico City for a Gift of Sight mission trip.

2004 – Dr. Watson goes on a Gift of Sight mission trip to Ecuador.

2006 – Dr North goes on a mission trip to Romania.

2007 – Dr. North goes to Panama and Dr. Watson goes to Laos for Gift of Sight Mission trips.  Staff members begin their community involvement by participating in the Como Zoo – Zoo Boo.

2009 – Drs. North and Watson added a blog and joined Facebook.  🙂

2010 – Dr. Watson goes to Ghana, while 2 technicians are also chosen to participate in Gift of Sight missions.  They were sent to Burkina Faso, Africa and Houston, Texas.

2011 – Drs. North & Watson takes on the daunting task of electronic medical records.  No more paper files.  Staff members participate in the Como Zoo – Zoo Boo.

2012 – Digital Eye Exam equipment is introduced.  Increased presence on social media sites – joined Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.  A mobile site is also added.

2013 – Drs. North & Watson has a new online store providing contacts, vitamins, and other vision aids.  We join a online community, using email and text messaging to make and confirm appointments.
